Video editing for idiots?

I tried searching for this and got no matches.
I have a digital video camera and want to make some R/C movies. I'm a little lost with the editing part though. I have added firewire to my system so I can transfer in less than a week. I also just aquired Adobe Premier 6.0 from a friend. Somehow he lost the manuals and gave up trying to use it. Should I invest in maybe a "for Dummies" book or go for a more user friendly program. Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated!

If you have Win XP - I use Windows Movie maker. Very very easy and intuitive. Free download doesn't hurt either

Premier is actually pretty easy to use. I'd recommend getting a book.

I use Windows Movie Maker myself, and for just capturing video and cutting/splicing things around, it probably is better than Premier.
