Lee, this is not going to help if you decide to fly when there's no Sun like the other night.

That is correct. Looking for night flying DLG LED kit now

Charlie's SBEC LED setup is only good for after-dark nose-in orientations

Man my Stobel wing still did not show up. I ordered one with lights molded into wing, is that cool or what.

Stobel V4 will have solar cells and LED's molded into wing.

That's just NOT right for an aircraft made to ride on rising air

EDIT - this is dude-yankage. Please do not publish these statements in the National Enquirer (known for its 100% factual content)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm not sure I'm ready to drop the coin for stobel just yet. That'd put a new crate motor in my truck!

Has anyone heard from Jason Jones lately? The frankenstien DLG he was going to sell me has the sidewinder fuse that should fit Dirk's old "pinky" wing he gave me. That might be the best way for me to go right now.

Lighthawk II

Carlsoti,
I have a new Lighthawk II going up for sale. This one is factory built by RC Builders with RDS, 2S lipo with voltage regulator / voltage meter and the makings of a ballast kit. It only has a handful of trimming flights on it. It is basically brand new. I have a duplicate Lighthawk and a V3 on the way so will be letting this one go.

Thanks for the offer (they've been pouring in), but at this stage, I'm really in the "researching" stage. As much as I'd really like to have a really nice, "competitive" plane, my skill level makes it difficult for me to justify the cost associated with that. For the time being, I think I should stick with the "cheap and ugly" planes, and learn to make them as good as they can be. I still don't have a proper "launch setting", as most other people use. (gotta get that switch soldered one of these days!)

Great monster lift conditions and great company sailing with everyone today. Between noon and 4:00 PM we had enough DLG'ers for a short competition.

Charlie and George - you had the right idea standing in the shade for those 15-min flights. It might be Jan, but that low sun and mid-70 temps made it toasty.

Does anyone have the newest RCA Handlaunch TechLab video? Apparently he updates the XP-4 he built in the original techlab video. I could use some of those tips and tricks.

Hey Guys,

The John Erickson Memorial contest in Long Beach, CA is this Saturday and it is turning out to be a nice sized event. Clay H. is running it and he does a great job.

George, John, Brad and I will be leaving on Friday sometime (looks like a little later in the afternoon this time.) and are looking to see who else wants to come along.

Please post or PM me so we can figure out hotel accommodations if needed etc.

Charlie
