NOOBIE looking for good FPV setup.
Hi all. I know these are some really random questions, but I'm just trying to get up to speed on FPV because I know I'm going to love it.
I'd like to get input from the forum so I can get some good reliable equipment that will make for good quality videos and fun flying.
I see these videos from REALLY high in the air. How far out and back do some of these plans fly? Also how high do they get?
What kind of setup would I want as a beginner?
what kind of plane? I've seen the Easystar alot. Do Push planes work better because the nose is free to modify for a camera?
Do I need a high powerered motor? If so, any recommendations?
what's a good transmitter/receiver?
what kind of camera?
Anything else I might need? I see some people with TV screen goggles. Are those pretty cool?
I saw for some transmitters you need an amateur radio license, and some you need an FCC permit or something? Can someone explain this?
Where can I get a good OSD?
any feedback is much appreciated, thanks!
I started flying many years ago, when I tried sticking cameras on my plane (still cameras back then). Back then my ideas were thought up in isolation, without any reference, and I managed to do it (badly)
I have just recently decided to get back into the hobby, and I am a newbie to FPV, just like you.
You are lucky, you have found an internet resource that has ALL the answers to your questions.
You just have to read.
