New Product

SimpleOSD Ultralight & XL editions, Now Shipping!

Hi Everyone,

Important Notice: This first post will update when product specifications changed.

We started a new thread about simple and cheap OSD system on FPV community.
http://fpv-community.com/forum/showt...tid=148&page=1

Concept is "flying like a bird without OSD scraps on the screen"
This is why SimpleOSD using smallest fonts and only 1 line OSD information on top.

First product of simpleOSD concept coming in this week!
UltraLight: http://www.flytron.com/29-simpleosd-...t-edition.html
XL: http://www.flytron.com/41-simpleosd-xl-edition.html

Original SimpleOSD UL(ultra Light) board is only 3.16gr weight.

UltraLight edition usefull for Non GPS usage.
I'm suggesting XL version if you want using it with GPS, because XL version have 4 times bigger firmware capacity for complex calculations.

It is monitoring 2 battery voltage and capacity and current(with optional current sensor)

SimpleOSD system is firmware upgradible over internet and i will design different firmwares for different usages like dogfighting osd with bullet and hit counter.

I hope you like it

Some features:

* Plug and Play interface for easy usage
* 32kb giant size codespace for different screen designs(on XL version)
* 8kb codespace for simple and usefull screen(on UltraLight version)
* Optional 10hz GPS module with -163dB high sensitive active antenna
* Optional Plug and Play 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz TX modules
* Second battery monitor
* RSSI input pin for signal level monitoring
* Optional analog pin for different sensors
* 27x35mm stamp size
* IR port for Infrared Dogfight and menu control with TV remote (XL version only)
* EXT port for remote controls, digital outputs or IR gun for dogfight
* Firmware update system over internet

If the sensors are not connected, does it hide the text for it? Is it possible to get a "special" firmware mod? I'd like to have one where voltage shows up every 5mins for 5 seconds.

Great. Really nice. I'm getting one for sure. How's the power consumption and can it be just put between the 5V/12V camera and tx (powers off the camera circuit)?

Hi Mark,

Yes you can use with 10Hz GPS module for home/altitude/distance/speed informations. But is increasing cost and weight, not usefull for UltraLight edition.

I suggest you SimpleOSD XL edition, I need 1 month for finishing first firmware.
Price will around $110 with GPS module. XL edition have powerfull microprocessor and extra inputs for making very funny things.

I dont have much room in the payload bay of my Micro Grey Ghost either, this would work. I dont like a cluttered video feed, SimpleOSD looks really good. Need any beta testers??

Melik, I see on your testbench you are using vertical pins. In final product you should either deliver 90deg bends or unpopulated hols with both choices. Some applications (mine for example) require the OSD to be flat as possible.

Yes, you right.
I will sell it flat and included different pins. you can solder the pins.
My personal choose is using without pins.
If you want watch only the voltage, you need only 3 wire. (power, ground and video signal)
