I neeeeeeed a pilot for my 330SC!
It's the smallest EF Pilot-X, 1/5 th scale. You need to trim a little off the shoulders and then I glued a piece of white card stock over that. Doc posted the cockpit insert for download. I ca'ed a piece of balsa sheet between the two rail's on the bottom of the canopy. Just wide enough front to back. Then you can screw the pilot to the plate and sandwich the insert between them.
I think Hangar 9 might also make a pilot that will work. This is the one http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...374#quickSpecs

I'm really, really missing my SC. I loved that plane. Good thing I've got one coming, but now that Jim lives across the state it might be a few weeks before I can get it built and sorted. I'm shooting for the Mid Florida 3DHSOC Throwdown on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but if not, Rob is rebuilding my old one for his armada, and maybe he'll let me run a pack through it.
Um, if you can go without killing anymore planes over the next couple of weeks I'll let you fly it

What's that collar do anyway? I've always left them off, but the build vids/thread were particular about making sure to use it on this one so I did.
I used a step bit and made it bigger.

In the old days, you know..... the dark ages of modelling before we had ARFs, we used to use this thing called a dremel tool....

Alright, motor's installed now and spinning free.

Elevator and rudder horns in. Elevator horn was a super tight fit too, had to get a little violent with a sharp object. I'll do the aileron ones tomorrow, I need sleep now.

Well fellas... thanks for all your help. I've opted for... drum roll... the 70". I might have a 57" in my future still... lets get this one together first!

If you had one, which would it be? Which do you fly most? If I have a 70" is it even worth getting a 57"?

Out of yellow, eh? That might be making up my mind for me... I really don't like the red.

Thanks

Thanks Guys....and to you too Doc for your PM....it is appreciated...

At this point he is going through an intensive "pain management" program that is 6 hours a day for 8 weeks. Hopefully that will help some...but it may still come down to having surgery. But... this happened a year ago September, and in California, you only get two years of work comp and then it ends, so something has to be done soon...
