Then I finally just put the 3S 2100 pack all the way back to the wing tube and it changed quite a bit. But I still didn't like it for knife edge and rolling maneuvers.

Its a smooth plane but I think they improved some things with the latest version for a reason.

Anyway, now that I have the 57 and 72, I know that they fly much better in every way. The 72 was my first big plane and I set it up to be more docile with 6s. Then with the 57, I decided to go ballistic. I'm running the Motrofly 750kv on 4S 4000 Turnigy 40-50C packs, 15x8 APC prop. It pulled 1320 watts and 82 amps according to the CC Ice 100 log.

Holly crap batman is all I have to say. I have never seen a plane climb like this and still come down low for slow, rolling harriers that lock in and look yummy.

This plane is an animal. Split personality. Excellent tracking, great 3D. Does exactly what you ask it to do. I can't believe its legal! (ok, maybe I'm getting a bit carried away here...) My buddies at the field had to remind me it was a maiden flight. I forgot about 30 seconds into it.

Anyway, my advice is to skip the SHP and spend the 200.00 more and get the 57 SC. The servos are cheaper which offsets the ICE Lite 100 or ICE 100. The main cost difference is in the lipos and airframe.

My SHP just became wall art for my son's bedroom. : )
The 57" SC is becoming my new favorite plane!

On the second flight I was doing KE passes only 6" off the ground, It also KE spins a little faster then my 51" Slick. I am flying a light set up with an 8oz motor and 3300 battery. It has plenty of power but not ballistic like my slick.

i dont have any 4S bats OR a charger, so the added money difference would be greater than a $200 difference. Finances wont let me get into the sc yet, but trust and beleive that if i had the money, i would skip to it, then after i was comfortable with the SC, i would move to the 87" SHP

If you guys are looking for some batteries, I just grabbed two of these:

4S 4000 40C. They are 50g lighter than my 3700 20C Rhinos, five bucks more, and ships from USA (free!). I haven't had the chance to fly with them yet but other people seem happy with Sky Lipo's.

Man without tower discounts I only come up with about $600 or so for the 57sc???

225mg servos, Ice 100 esc, motrolfly 2620 motor, spinner, and plane???? What am I missing? Oh dubro arms so another $15??? Now I can save 50 at tower for being a member????

Im flying my SC with Sky Lipos and they work out really well. Plenty of power for sure!

Im getting 7 min of hard mixed flying on a Hyperion 3025-10 with a 15x7 prop. I am only using 3300's and put about 2200 back in after each flight.

Stock Hitec servo arms work fine. I have CC motor instead ($32).
I used to save 20% by being a member ($60 off $300). Now is $50 off $300.

Tower sent me 225HBs instead of 225MGs that I ordered. They resent 225MGs with no charge or return required. Kinda nice

My second 3dhs plane was the 47shp and then got the bigger planes and very happy that I did. The 57 is a whole other ball game it's that much nicer and more stable!

I have a V1 47" SHP, abd the 57" SC. The SHP is a great flying, forgiving plane, but it doesn't even compare to the SC. The SC is more stable, tracks better, can fly way faster and retain more enrgy, but slow down just as much as the SHP. My SC gets flown way more, and the SHP has been put on snow and night flying duties.

Very true. I am a pretty quick learner. The SHP was my second balsa plane and I got bored with it really quick.

My hangar went for 10 planes down to 2. The SC and Slick are all that remain!
