Hi all 3DHS fanatics! My name is Jeff Mitchell.

A little while back I was asked by Mr. Ben Fisher himself to document the build of the new 3DHS -Yellow- 57" Extra 330 SC. I am excited to share the build will the 3DHS community, and all who have taken an interest. I will work hard over the next week (or so) to document the entire build and include some good close up and intimate pictures of the awesome new 57" SC. I can already tell you the kit is the usual amazing 3DHS quality we have all come to expect, and this airframe will no doubt be another winner. Hat's off to Ben and Scott for another job VERY WELL DONE. Thanks guys!

I like to start every ARF build by running over all the covering with my heat gun and/or iron before I get to the build. I have to say I had very little work to do this round, great job at the factory!

After a little cosmetic wrinkle removal, I am going to take my trusty hot-knife and remove the covering from areas shown in the assembly manual.

The maiden was done by a couple guys that are much faster builders than I. But I am going to work hard to get more pics up ASAP! And when the SC is done I'm hoping local pilot Tyler Hawker will wring it out for some video.

You have to hurry, mine is almost done What is the little carbon rod supposed to be used for? I can't quite figure it out

This is the best made arf I have ever seen. I can't wait to get it in the air !!!

I have found this to be a good time to hit all the forward joints with thin CA. Focus on the motor box and landing gear mounting areas.

Looks like you will beat me to the maiden! Nice work!

The carbon tube is a stiffener for the elevator pushrod. See page 9 of the manual.

Wow... Carbon fiber landing gear! And the usual QUALITY 3DHS aluminum axles. Awesome touch.

3DHS has made the process of installing wheels and wheel pants nearly totally painless. I have seen some crazy methods of mounting wheel pants in the past, some nearly drove me crazy. But this is, well... easy!
