I just stumbled across this gem while digging around on Ebay. Looks like a prime candidate to blow up to about 30" wingspan and make it from Depron. I'm sure the shroud is not necessary -- which would only add more drag -- but the rest of it looks like a straightforward conversion. It might also make a nice seaplane by adding a step on the bottom of the hull.

This is a swet looking plane. Will you add landing gear, or do it as a float plane?

I haven't really thought that far ahead yet, but I imagine this thing would just be a belly lander. The printed wheels seem to indicate a tricycle configuration... it wouldn't take much poke an axle through the fuselage for the mains and add a fixed nose-wheel up front. If I built it as a seaplane, I'd need to add the step and rework the tail section so it doesn't drag in the water as it pitches up.

I just bought the card model off Ebay, so when it comes in the mail I'll scan in all the parts and retro-engineer them to be built from FFF. The under-cambered wing looks stout enough that it wouldn't need much reinforcment. A KFM would also work nicely.

I'll wait to see how you do this one. It does look like a nice plane.

I agree, that motor pod blocks way too much of the airflow to the prop. I also might taper the fuselage right behind the cabin... again, to allow the prop to grab some air.

Here's a start at making a vector file. I combined the cabin and the motor pod instead of making it a separate piece.

Downloaded the plans and they are added to my build list. I guess you desided against the tab and slots or will that come later?
