Well Cornel, so much for my high hopes of help from beyond---.

Can't read Romanian anyway, or Czech for that matter---.

Nor too many people can---.

Cornel, I always get a kick out of ads that say "Lifetime Guarantee." It's life is over when it breaks and so is the guarantee.

Trust me, with the new generation of young translators, you don't want to. I buy Top Gear in the UK or airports for an enjoyable read... but the local version is the funniest ever... car magazine probably translated by a young 1st year literature student whose room mate happens to have a boyfriend whose father is a car mechanic... HUGE technical expertise...
But you know the classical one: first ever advert in English for Electrolux - Nothing sucks like an Electrolux...

How about the light string package that had this...

Warning!
For indoor or outdoor use ONLY!

I guess the only place you can't hang them is in the doorway.

"Lifetime Guarantee"---. Yours, or theirs---?

I've had that expression explained as "you're fed"

I hate to say that, but some of the funniest warnings are still from the US. Probably the fear of lawsuits...
Hearing aid battery:
"Do not puncture.... usual stuff...
Do not swallow (USA ONLY)"

I am NOT kidding... if my mother still has the pack, I'll post a pic...

What about the statement on a plastic propeller sold in California. Something to the effect of " may cause cancer". Me, I'd be worried about the possibility of a life threatening jugular injury.

"Caution, Contains lead and may cause Cancer or reproductive harm"...
