Eagle Butte Labor Day Weekend Blow Out

Looks to be great conditions.
Several of the Seattle crew are heading over in the morning.
Should be a nice little Fall opener!
Got Wind!

The dreaded 4000 air-mile trip prevents me from joining, but if I did, I'd bring my planes equipped with Helmut Quabeck airfoils... : )

Burn and bury some foamies for me, will ya?

We are sitting here talking about the day. BAM!!!! What a Day!

We had fun and I have the sunburn to prove it
Between throwing rocks at BlitZ's E T-28 (no wind) and the 30+ that kicked up we were all smiles.

Dieter, got a little Simba time. After a few minor tweaks. We had her ripping with a new power plant and 2.4. Just have to remember, Speed Kills

David had his his ASW-28 4 meter cruising the slopes. That thing amazed us all at the lack of wing flex, especailly as David flew it like the once beloved CA Sloper.

All the glass came out as the day burned on. At one point we saw 90+ temps. It dropped 25 dergrees by the end of the day and we flew everything!

Tomorrow holds promise! We hope to get the lead sleds out!

Eagle was in prime form Sunday. Winds started out 20 to 25 and ended up over 40 by 3:00pm. Everything was thrown off the hill. Todds R2 with ballast was half pipe pumping to unreal heights. Derrick's blade was rippen the lip and Blitz had his blade whisteling during rolls. Sanders flew the Erwin and found it lands all to easy. Both ASW 28's had their wings stretched (positive and negative) and I found the limits to the 3M at about 35mph but the 4m was rippen when the wind got to 40. I'm going to bed a very happy man.

Great Weekend, and a bonus day to rest. What more could a guy ask for. We all flew everything we brought.

I'm sure quite a few pictures will be posted soon.

David's 4M was unreal. The thing flew like it was on rails!

Till next time.
