Yippee!

home made airboat


hi guys

this is my scratch built electric air boat powered by a 280 size brushed motor with a GWS 5x3 prop/DD,the battery is an Hyperion 2S 400mamp pack and the radio link is via futaba 4ch set + home made ESC

here is a video of it this was taken in front of our house

Looks like fun!

Airboats are ideal for lakes with plants in them.

But I would lower the motor pod a little, to make bring the CG down. This helps against tipping over.

How are you're electronics after that little dunk underwater?
Fallow the above recommendation on lowering the motor/prop POD or enlarge the width on the boat.

thanks for the tip julez i did what you said and now the model is much better
b/w i have seen two aluminium fins bottom of your boat what are these for ?? i don't have then on my boat !

freechip i got the stuff out cleaned the receiver with dry cloth n then let it dry afterward cleaned the board with flux remover/PCB cleaning agent

no problem everything seems fine n works as they should

Nice little boat - I've had a few inverted moments with mine and have been able to simply run it back to shore inverted... granted my radio is sealed so the only things in the drink are the servo and motor.

Glad to see you got it back in the water. I could use one of those as a rescue boat. I think I got enough spare parts to make one. Looks quick too.
