New Parkzone p51 or Greatplanes P47

Hi..i'm looking for some input here..

I'm an intermediate flyer and my last plane was an alfa p47 razorback that I loved and enjoyed over 50flights with. It's time is about up...

I'm looking at either the p51 gunfighter or the GP p47 (convert to elec.)

I'm torn between the 2. If it came down to strictly p51 or p47, i'm partial to p47.. but with the actual planes, flying characteristics, repairability, etc.. I can't decide..

p.s. - anyone know if you can buy just the wing for the alfa p47? HL says you can't but i'm not sure thats correct.

thanks!

IMO I would go with the PZ P-51BL simply because if the worst should happen you can repair it very easy. Some glue and tape and you could be back flying that day (depending on how bad the crash is). Just my opinion.

I agree, plus if it is that bad replacement wings and fuselages can be picked up at most LHS for a fair price. Plus they fly AWESOME!

That is a major factor.. i've never owned or tried to repair a balsa build. I thought the GP though would handle a little more solidly... my Alfa certainly did not like even a slight breeze

Hands down, go with the P-51 Mustang. If you want a winter project, then get the P-47 and convert it. But while it's still good daylight hours, soak it up with some Pony Power!!!

its a little of apples to Oranges. The P-51 is a park flyer and the P-47 is a field plane. I used to fly park fliers but now have moved to .40+ planes (all electric). I like the feel and how the large planes fly.
