sr-71 gear and poor support

I purcjased the sr-71 and the f-86 and have had nothing but problems. The sr-71 retracts do not work and the gear just flops around. I have called and emailed many times with no suport. I had to just give up and bite the loss.

Wow they just got 22 new phone lines. Surely they all were not busy when you tried to call.

whats the matter with the retracts I have bought two sr 71's and they worked ok
Are you using the stock transmitter or one of your own?
Be very carefull if using the tsock one because the plane is very twitchy on stock settings.

sr71 gear

The gear is dead and will not move at all. I can move them physically ok. Nose wheel steering works fine and Yes, I am using the stock transmitter.

dead gear

So the gear is not rigid in any position, as in you can freely move it around and it just hangs down? is there any noise at all when attempting to operate the gear? Did the gear work at all at any time? I understand you are frustrated and not pleased but with a little more info we may be able to help out.

I would try removing the linkage from the gear servo and then maybe plug that servo into the receiver port for the steering and if it works its a possible receiver problem if not it could be the servo or the wires from the servo. In my experience servos usually do not just quit they always make some kind of noise. Keep in mid these planes are built fairly cheap and require maintanance. Yesterday after my third flight the steering servo fell off. The little screws holding the braket to the shock on the gear stripped so I used a dremel bored it out larger and replaced with a larger screw. If you have had no problems with your steering servo I would pull the bolts and locktite them so they do not strip like mine did.

I apologize for not answering you sooner. I did not see this post. Can you see if you are getting any power to the retract servos? It is rare to have both nose and main retract not operate. In this case, there is usually a simple explanation. One, check to see if the Y connector is plugged into the servos in the correct polarity. Next the polarity connected to the receiver. Please let me know if there is any thing I can do for you.
