That's the great thing about electrics and altitude........just use a prop size bigger (or two) and you can pull the same power out of the motor as you would have at sea-level.

The great thing about living in Norway is I can prop up one or two compared to the texas guys as well. That is because of temperature, not elevation...

Rob, my plan is to fly it on the 18x8. Having watched Andrew fly the 70" at SEFF on this power setup I was happy with the way it pulled out of a hover, it looked very similar to the way my 87" SHP pulls out, I prefer my planes not to be crazy power I can fly them much smoother that way. Just have to wait and see I think the 25C packs should make a little difference but temperatures here are already beginning to drop towards 60-65F so temps won't (shouldn't) be an issue.

Threshold, I've only just received my DHL shipping number everything is correct though, the weight was 19lbs plus i'm also getting one of the epp yaks from 3Depp that was 2lbs (including the packaging for that) but I asked them to combine and the total weight came in at 20.3lbs which seems about right. I asked them to ship with DHL ONLY as it will come into East Midlands (there main hub in the UK) that way it gets up north a little quicker, hoping to receive it all by wednesday/thursday.

Well I have no idea what they are shipping to me that weighs 38lbs. So far my impression of them is very bad. And they have not told me what it will cost. I guess I pay on delivery. The tracking number they have given me does not work either.

Hhhmmm sounds strange, I used them for my 87" SHP and everything was accurate and everything worked, I can't fault them. I've set an account up with them though as i plan to use them again, maybe thats the difference??? When did you get the tracking number as mine doesn't become active until 1830 FL time which is 2330 our time (i think). At that weight your going to be paying a lot more than you should....I'd get in contact with them.

The Slick is atleast 9lbs. I am concerned about the power the 6s would put out. I know Scott has been testing the Vyper and Velox but hasn't tested the Slick at my altitude yet.
I'm thinking that 8s is gonna be the way to go in the Slick. Not what I really want to do though. The Velox is 1 pound lighter than the 70'' Slick.
One pound is alot, that can be used for battery weight.

Ben is supposed to be sending out a 70" Slick this week to me. I'll be running 6S and you're welcome to take her for a spin. Personally, I think that 1600-1800 watts should be just fine on a 9-10 lb airplane.

Well this is their email saying they have sent it

Destination: Wallingting, (instead of Wallington) Surrey, United Kingdom
Weight: 38.0 lbs
Pieces: 1
Contents: Toy Airplane

and this is their email saying they had received the package

"You received a 18.5 lb package today from 3Dhobbyshop.Com."

Who knows what's going on?

Cory, I think if you increase your diameter for the altitude you will be fine. I can easily get 2000+ watts from my 6S batteries and they barely get warm and that is plenty of power for this plane.
