All good to know as we have been above 100 for many days. In fact I am going to make a cooling baffle tonight for my free side cowl inlet for the motor.

I've read that about Scorpions magnets, but I know I turned the magnets on one of them blueish. At least the back 1/3 of the magnet. And the motor temp was not over 160 when it landed, ever. That's nowhere near 200C, and yet the magnets began suffering damage.

This all assumes scorpion is using the n50eh grade magnet that they claim. I've stuck to the 160 rule in all my scorps and never had a non bearing failure. I fly them mostly in large helis where cooling becomes a big deal.

The blueing damage is probably just the surface metal the magnets are plated with.

A motor in a helicopter doesn't have to handle the gyroscopic precession of a plane since it only has a pinion.

ADC Fuse Bags


If anyone is interested we are now making Fuse Bags to match the Wing Bags we have been making for the last few years. The size we have up on the SITE now is adjustable from the 62" Osiris to the 72" Extra.

18x8 gave me about 2300watts on 40C packs

Rob Great idea!
It would be nice to carry both Fuse and wings in each had to and from the Van.

How is the Fuse Bag fastened?
by Velcro or some other way?

It would suck to have the fuse drop out the bottom of the bag in route to and from the field.

You know... if the carry straps wrapped around the bottom of the bag and the bag opening at the top... I'd hit the buy button and order one for my 72" Extra330sc today!
