Ok here is the pic. The piece of ply that looks like its sticking out from the bottom isn't sticking out. That's still glued to the wing tube the top and all has move out and is no longer glued to the tube

Anyway, got me a red 71Slick and I'm gonna start putting it together soon. I have a Hacker A-50 in my 74 Edge but I'm thinking of trying something different on this one. So............what's the hot setup? I have lots of awesome Gens Ace 5300 6S packs so I'm leaning towards the 6S setup. Plus I'd like my wings to stay on

More efficient than previous Hacker motors for similar size planes. Doesn't get hot even on hot summer days in San Jose, swings a large prop I run a 20X10 APC, Joe Smith uses the same motor, but prefers a 21X10 I believe...

If you like 8S, I am using the A60-5S in my 72" Extra and 74" Slick, for the same reasons. I am actually using a Xoar carbon PJN gas prop on them...

Thanks for the short review. I'm gonna talk to the Hacker guys at the AMA show this weekend, hopefully I'll bring something home.

on the 71 the 4325-380 from motrolfly is hard to beat. light, powerful, doesnt get too hot. i thought it was the perfect setup on my 71

If you're going with the light 6s set up it would be hard to beat the 4325 380... My flying partner has one and it rocks out with good power. Nothing like my 4330 on 12s but very respectable.

A60 mounting - Help?

Is redrilling the holes in the Motor box the only way to make this motor work in a 71" Slick???

Or do as I do and replace the firewall ( I don't like "swiss cheese" firewalls).... So that you can do either ones easier, here are mounting templates for the A60-6XS. I print them on full sheet clear label material, then cut one out and stick it on....make sure you printer is set to print at correct size.

+1

my slicks didn't need the weight up front like the 72 and 74 did.

Glad I just checked the settings on my CC BEC Pro! I never checked it after picking this plane up because I didn't have a laptop near me and I didn't feel like unbolting the power system to bring it into the house.

I've only flown the plane about 5-10 times but each time I felt like maybe I was getting some blowback on the elevator because whenever I'd do a pushover into inverted harrier the nose would want to drop. I'd have to finesse it quite a bit to get back into a harrier orientation.

Well, today I plopped my laptop beside it and checked the voltage and it was set to 5.1V!!

I'm guessing that will fix my blowback issue for sure!!
