I meet the ground unexpectedly the other day too. My 72 was in a blender and on an upright pull out, I ran out of room. Just kinda pancaked into the ground. Wouldn't believe it but the gear made it fine. It must bend/flex almost flat. I did have it wrapped many months ago with the old fishing line repair. I did rip/break a few elevator hinges. Boy were those fun to replace (with the joiner still attached).

Does anyone have a preference on wing bags? My stock ones have worked great but are ripping at the flaps and are beginning to fall apart. Looking for a set that are a little more durable.

Got a new LG plate cut out of 1/4" ply, and after some maneuvers that would make Brock Lesnar look like a chump, it's in. I'll do some more reinforcing and recover the whole area.

Yea I am very glad they left the whole bottom of the plane white....so much easier to fix a landing mistake. Is this ultracoat white?

I assume that is correct. I got a 3' x 6" strip of white MonoKote to patch everything with. I've never done any covering before, so I went with the "peel n stick" patching. It might not match perfectly, but I'm not too concerned with that.

I have a patch from my 3dhs yak. It came with pieces of every color...the only arf I've ever seen like that! But I'm guessing at the rate I'm going I will need more.

Guys, question on re-drilling the motor mount for the Motrolfly. I've knocked all the blinds nuts out and going to rotate them and match to the 4325.

Some of the round ply doublers (behind the firewall) for the blind nuts cracked and tore up when I knocked the blind nuts out. Do I need to remake and re-glue the round doublers for the blind nuts, or can I just leave them out and have the blind nuts bite directly into the firewall?

I put new peices behind my blind nuts. If you dont the nuts are to deep and come out the other end of the motor mount

If the tines of the blind nuts poke all the way through the firewall then you should use some type of wood backing to keep them from going all the way through, otherwise they will hit your standoffs and keep them from sitting all the way flush. On some of mine when the doughnuts don't come off nicely I just cut a square of 3/32" plywood and glue that to the firewall and drill through it. Then the blind nuts can go through the new plywood square and won't poke out the front.
