It was a bit windy today but I think I like the adjustments I made on my 71 yesterday. Will know more this weekend

I was lock to lock at 50* but took my Klein lineman pliers and squished the balsa down in the bevel to get 60*. I heated up the covering so you can not tell. Worked well and was quick and easy to do.

Hmm, I can't picture how you would do this with a line mans pliers, but essentially you just compressed the balsa to get more bevel. I'm assuming this was on both the stab and elevator. Thanks Losi.

So should I go with the single voltage regulator solution:
http://www.f3aunlimited.com/webstore...roducts_id=160 Or the dual redundancy option: http://www.f3aunlimited.com/webstore...roducts_id=163 Also how many mAh should I shoot for on my 2S pack/packs? I'm figuring 3 flights per evening if I don't take a charger and generator to the field. If I could get packs where I'm sitting around 50% after 3 flights then I also wouldn't have to worry about putting them in storage mode after each trip. Thoughts? |

I'm running a 2S 2600mAh LiPo for my servos/RX (unregulated). Getting 8 12 minute flights easily (only using half the pack) so I'm using about 160mAh per flight.
Running a 2S 800mAh LiPo for my ignition (OS GT33 unregulated). Getting 8 12 minute flights and using 75% of the pack so I'm using about 75mAh per flight. If you only want three flights, 1000mAh servo/RX pack and a 450mAh ignition pack would probably do the job. Although I don't know what kind of inefficiencies you will incur by going regulated... So you might want bigger than that to be on the safe(r) side. HTH! |

Crashed my slick this morning. Had a battery die at the worst possible moment. It's repairable but the motor that I just got back sounds like.something is wrong very upset. I was looking forward to flying my 71 again. Will be checking it out when I get home.

Yeah it was one of my 25c gen aces. They are old though so I'm not surprised

Got the plane fixed. I was trying to figure out why my motor sounded bad as it never hit the ground. It was vibrating broken prices of wood in the plane. So motor is good and plane is all fixed back up.
Broke 4 bulkheads, a few stringers, and the battery tray. Smushed in the end of the left wing where it landed. Luckily I had some stuff to get it fixed. |
