It doesn't depend on the wing it depends on the airfoil Wings by themselves are pretty good for gliding since they don't have the added drag of a tail and fuselage. I expect the Zephyr to be an excellent glider, although that's not going to be my main type of flying with it

Looks good Trap. Your gonna love the way it glides w/ a folding prop.
I know youve followed my thread but I have two pointers to make your life easier.
1. above all else, get all your gear as far forward as possible. Cram those servos as close to the front as possible too. the fpv gear on the wing tips puts them behind the COG and it will effect balance. Oh, and watch your lateral balance as well. The VTx at the far end really makes it heavy on that wing. I found the tendency to tip stall is dramatically increased that way. I added some weight to the other end and now she stalls nose down every time.

2. Ive found the lowest I can get my plane is 59oz. Any more and you begin to feel it in the air. I recommend you glass it lite because that process adds the most weight at once

thanks webdr. Are your batteries as far forward as mine? I can get a lot more weight upfront, but I haven't measured the CG yet so I don't want to have too much up front either

Mum is the word!
This is what I am going to use in mine on 4s and a 8/4 prop for a tad more speed.
You can not beat the quality.
It will also work great on 3s with larger props.

I will also be vending these motors here soon for smoking package deal prices on the kit motor and esc.

Looking Good! You're making progress. What's the distance,(from leading edge) to the spar,(the one you created with the soldering iron)?

pedantik: yes, coming right off my maxi swift. I need to check if the gears are still fine after the last crash, though can't tell you about the distance as I'm not at home at the moment, but I just drew it along the thickest part of the airfoil

klique: when selling something for FPV, make sure it runs on 3S ... 4S already requires another step down while with 3S the video gear can be powered off a (proper) OSD directly.
