Sketchup FPV platform(build)

Thought i would share with you my FPV design, it's a high wing pusher type
with 1400mm w/s, Clark Y wing foil. Going to be 4ch with no rudder, just a steerable nose wheel.

So far i have most of the fuselage design complete which is balsa/ply
structure, the wings will be solid foam core with balsa skin, the twin booms
are going to be aluminium and tail surfaces balsa.

Knocked up a foam nose cone, going to glass it latter on in the build.

template for two blocks of foam.

sanded to shape then stuck together.

More progress, cut out the center and wing tip sections with my hot wire.
Also cut out slots for wing tip dihedral brace(s)(1" under each tip)

C/F spar cut out into the under side of main section, should give it some extra strength

Starting to look like a plane now

Clark Y foil.

Another little update, originally i was going to use alloy tube for the tail booms
but decided to use 3mm ply sandwiched between two 9mm sheets of soft balsa.

The fins and tail plane are 6mm foam framed with 6mm by 10mm balsa.

3mm inner part of the tail boom inter locking to the dihedral brace.

Small update,

Re-built the tail/fins out of 9mm/10mm balsa strips for extra strength to support the elevator servo. Also cover it with white solar film.

Another small up-date.

Skinned center and outer wing sections with 2mm balsa and used 10mm balsa strips to
simulate built up wing. latter on today i hope to add soft balsa wing tip blocks and mount ailerons/servos.

I love the look. I want something similar, maybe a little more glideresque. I will be watching.

how do you model the body in sketchup? I'm currently practicing in turbocad but it lacks in the 3d side, it's pretty difficult to get started, I'm currently downloading autocad to try that. I want to design something similar to mount a camera on it, supposed to be low drag trainery sort of thing probably will use clark-y too
