I kind of agree, but it is interesting to see what they are being used for etc, and it can give you ideas for builds.. for instance, notice that french one, it seems to use coaxial type folding props, it would be nice to take a closer peek at how the are put together

Hi all, I am new to the quad copter arena so I don't mean to ask questions that have already been asked but here you go....Has anyone used large motors say in the 80 amp range like the kind used in giant scale aircraft?

Hi,
So far, I have not heard of anyone using motors larger than 13" props can handle. The counter-rotating prop pairs seem to stop at that size, so custom props would have to be made or ordered for larger sets. If they are out there somewhere, let me know
Cheers,
Jim

I did find a guy that makes custom CF props of any size and rotation....I forgot to bookmark the site, so I will have to look in my history but that was my option, I was wondering if it matters for the control board what amps the esc are pushing. Has anyone heard of this being an issue with any of the control boards out there? I found an inexpensive motor that will sling a 22" prop! I also came across a counter rotating system, that uses a 22" prop that is supplied withe the motor. I might try that as well....
