Help please. I bought a KK compatible board from value hobby. Good price and looks fairly easy to use, I thought. It came with 2 wires. One is a regular wire with male to male ends. The other is a male plug on one end and the other end has 3 male plugs one on each wire. I know these are for the rx to board connection but how do I do it? Thank you for any help I can get.

Tri-Quad-Hexa-Octo-copters!!
Hi Tom,
Please ask your question in one of the listed KK threads under the Index at the front of this thread under Project Quads/Hexas/Octos. Someone there will be better able to help you with specific setup info for your KK board.
Cheers,
Jim

I am writing my masters thesis paper on the construction of a tricopter drone. One of the design requirements are speed. I did some testing on various motors and propeller combos for found that it is a trade off between lift and pitch speed(which factors into forward speed). So I notice for the size tri I am building most people are using a 9x4.7. With the motor I am using it gives you 1100grams of thrust and a pitch speed of 41 mph. I increased to a 10x8 and got the same thrust, but with a pitch speed of 46.7 mph. Of course there is a difference of 4 amps between the two. Does anyone have any other prop recommendations for speed on a tri. I placed the two props on my tri and also noticed the difference in speed. I have a 2.5 lbs tri and am trying to maintain to 2.5-3:1 thrust to weight ratio.

Hi E,
I have never had one of the HK Talon frames, but others have liked them. The price sure has jumped from the $29 quad Talon frame...

SeismicCWave has some good information on camera mounts and vibration isolation. Here are some camera mount threads that will help you decide.

E,
Since you are new, it is more important that you learn safe procedures and then to fly and maintain and trouble-shoot multicopters. There are many options in diameter size and lifting capability and price ranges that must match your requirements. Perhaps you should start out by learning on one of the many mini or micro quads first and use them as training before you start flying with a camera that can be easily damaged in "hard-landings". That way you will have only spent about $50 and will learn quite a bit and gain some flying and rebuilding skills and trouble-shooting knowledge.
Cheers,
Jim

Yes but
The problem is I am from INDIA.....
and its not so easy to import so frequently because of several kinds of taxes and postage charges....
and also you cant import any electronic items even simple motors and lipos need permission from govt to get custom clearance...
thats the reason i want to import a frame first ,then i would use local made electronics

I can't speak for the Hex frame... but I have the quad frame and can tell you that the quality is excellent! The frame is strong and sturdy, and when set up correctly, it flies GREAT! I put a NAZA +GPS on mine, and it's rock-solid!
