You might be interested in this simulator which features some MikroKopter models and the GAUI 330

The download is free, and lets you fly for 2 minutes each time it restarts.

Wish there were more models for realflight.

Tri-Quad-Hexa-Octo-copters!!
Hi,
Nice sim. Have you gotten this to work with an FMS type Tx cable setup? I've not had any luck with it so far, but still messing with it.
Cheers,
Jim

AeroSIM-RC FMS PIC Tx setup 101

I was able to get my FMS-PIC Tx cable working with the AeroSIM-RC using PPJoy. You can download the correct 32 or 64 bit version from here: http://www.smartpropoplus.com/dnn/Se...5/Default.aspx RCGroups forum here https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=945884 and as mgg mentioned in his post above, the AeroSim-RC website is: www.aerosimrc.com/j/

Mikrokopter models: MK-Quadro, MK-Hexa, MK-Okto and MK-Okto2
New functions for MikroKopter models: Alt-Hold, Camera Stabilisation, CareFree mode, Motors On/Off

The PPjoy setup using my FMS PIC Futaba Tx and cable is shown in the attached photos. It is a nice simulator with lots of features. The MK flight performance is not quite there, but good enough. For example there is no ground effect when landing, similar to FMS. *Edit: The Author Mgg wrote to me explaining that the ground effect was a value that you could adjust in the "Edit Model" properties. I played with those setting and was able to get the desired perfomance on approaching landing and being in ground effect. Nice I also added the Windows Control Panel "Game Adapters" setup captures for the FMS Tx setup to use with AeroSim. The recording feature and FPV views are very nice to have. The octo had about the same simulated flight performance as the quad. It is crippled by a 2 minute limit before you must exit and reopen the application. The cable you must purchase for unlimited time is about $100.
Cheers,
Jim

Real Flight G4 multicopter models

Hi Joe,
Have you come across these YUFO Real Flight G4 multicopter model varients? Apparently they were modified for a quad and octo in varients downloads area: http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/down...o=file&id=4483 RF Knife Edge Thread: http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/down...o=file&id=4483

RE the FMS models I've seen so far ...

I like the Osprey best so far for Kopter practice.

But They are all Helicopter like.
Some even fly UPsidedown unlike most tricopters.

They are probably OK for orientation purposes.
Just dont expect things to be exactly like the SIM in the real world.

On my Twins Fuselaged Tri-Copter
I HAVE managed SOME hovers after much fussing around.

Things are better now ...

1. that I have some Pusher Props.

2. I had the YAW backwards - I was concentrating on the tail not the nose !!!

3. THen I had the Exponentials set + not - and they were way too sensitive. My bad.

I've managed a few good hovers so far with only one broken blade
loss of the H-stabs and a few Knocked Off Yaw Servo mounts repairs. sighhh

I have had to DIAL DOWN the roll as it seems to still oscillate.

WHAT or WHY am I experiencing ...
1. a difficult power up. It seems to take several tries to get ARMED
2. Coming up on power SOMETIMES not all the motors start.
I end up fiddling with the throttle and eventually get it to work.
3. Every so often I LOOSE power on the Right motor ???

I am still hopefull that I can get this thing working to my satisfaction.

Bob

Hi Bob,
I have noticed with my FMS setup that for some models I must put in a bit of throttle before I hit the Init. Then it always seems to work for me.
Here is my post with about 8 quad FMS models if you are interested:

Thanks Jim.
I think I've been there B4 - I like the tri hex too.

Why are guys doing the dual motor Up/Down thang ?

I just seems to me that contra rotation on the two forward motors and
then maybe a Dual on the rear would be enough to stop the torque issues

I wasnt clear when I changed subject from FMS to Real KK blueboard situation.

I wasnt so worried about the FMS operation as I am about my REAL tricopter.

It's all patched up for the next trials but the wind is up this PM so maybe tomorrow AM.

Bob,
Ah. On your throttle issue, have you calibrated your ESCs?
On the up/down thing, it is just a matter of personal choice that Gents make. Usually it is based on camera view or increased lift requirements. Every motor orientation has its strong and weak points. So to each their own. It is all part of the flying fun and watching others have fun with it
Cheers,
Jim

Sounds like you need to adjust your throttle endpoints in the config program.
