Great Planes Sequence F3A build thread

Hey everyone,
Just received my sequence a couple days ago in perfect condition and decided to do a build/flying log on this cool little pattern ship. To start off the quality is great and the fit and finish of this ARF is amazing! I’m pleased to report all the hardware is of good quality and the amount of pre fab work is a big plus! for my set up ill be using a rimfire .32 out runner with a silver series 45amp esc, castle BEC, futaba s3150 servos and a r146dp receiver, I know its over kill but its just sitting here lol Here's how it all looks out of the box;

Ok here it goes! the first thing I like to do when I build a plane is get it sitting up on the gear so its not rolling all over the work bench, all that was required to do this is slide the axel on the LG leg and screw down the 5mm lock nut, then a nice little spacer to keep the wheel from rubbing on the pants. After that are the wheel and wheel collar, and finally the pre drilled pants finish off the LG assembly. All of that is secured to the LG plate in the fuse. The tail wheel assembly is slick and very light! It all rides on nylon bushings to keep things smooth and lasting a long time.

Tower said that they shipped their first ones out in March. But not sure if that was just for sponsored pilots? I just saw it for the first time in a Tower magazine they sent me.

Are you going to use 1 elevator servo or 2?

Thanks guys!
Yes the sequence is in shops now, it should have arrived mid last week if your LHS preordered it. I'm using one futaba s3150 on the ele mounted in the fuse with the rudder servo on pull-pull. If you use the recommended servos this is more than enough. I'll be building more today but now I need to run to the LHS and grab a couple things for the sequence and my Venus 2.

Is this even slightly a 3D airplane? Kind of figured the Sport section might make more sense for this thread. Mine just showed up for a FlyRC review. Looks nice!

So the next thing to do was to get the anti-rotation pins in the wing and get the elevator squared up and glued in using 30-min epoxy, the instructions do a great job of guiding you through this so im’ not going to go into great detail here. After the epoxy is cured you can go ahead and hinge the elevator half’s making sure that the elevator joiner is inserted fully into each half and is adjusted as needed to make sure that the half’s are level, my kit required no adjusting of the joiner. So far so good!!!

Here’s a shot of the canopy hold down system its really simple and effective, there are 2 pins in the front that slide into the slots as normal on many planes, but the rear is really cool. There are 2 hooks that slide down, forward and lock with 3 magnets in the back. There is no way that thing is coming off in flight!!!
