By the way, in this link posted by a Lanxiang representative in the Mig-29 thread, you can see very impressive photos of the new Mig-29 and the new nozzles that Lanxiang is using:

The new ball nozzles look like Freewing nozzles, and the way the pushrods are connected, looks like the Freewing Su-34, too. Much better.

Cheers,
Henrik

PS: It seems that our beloved Su-47 is already old !
Damnit Henrik, why did you have to show us that

Ball linked nozzles, flaps, leading edge slats, lights, ejector seat, integrated electric retracts, missiles, 17 servos, drogue chute wowow!!!

Well, not until I've flown the crap out of the Berkut, probably next year...but wow!!!

Here is a link with 48 seconds. The plane is not in the air, but you can still see some movement of the control surfaces:

Giant Mig-29 Lanxiang www.ready2fly.eu (0 min 48 sec)

Pro: Everything moves! I particularly like the slats and flaps. I wonder how much they allow to slow down the plane for approach and slow flight? If it really can fly slow, that is a BIG plus for the bad grass fields we have.

Contra: Ailerons and Elevators are linked for the elevator function, again . But that can probably be fixed.

Cheers,
Henrik

Pilot error. Start was okay, 90 right turn, ok, next 90 turn, not enough speed in the right turn, too much bank angle in the turn, slip of the plane, nose down, not enough pull up, impact.

Added bonus: Trying whether the impellers still work after the crash. Both worked for a second, but one sucked in a little stone and you bet it stopped working after that.

A learning experience! Next time: More speed, more altitude.

Cheers,
Henrik

Did anyone else have trouble getting the gear doors to work? It's tricky getting the string to be just the right length.

i did have some trouble, but i manually removed the servo arm and centered all 3 servo's, after that i adjusted the travel adjust on close, and also adjusted the length of the string. all that for just one flight. oh well......

Hehe, the pain, the horror :-). If I think how much extra work I put in to get ball nozzles etc to the Su-47, grmbl. But anyway, I just pre-ordered a Mig and am curious. But it will probably take 2-3 weeks or so before it is really here.

Cheers,
Henrik

Concrete trim angles

Hello,

Michael from xpowershop just posted his Su-47 trim angles in a German forum. A his numbers are the first to be posted anywhere (that I am aware of), I repeat them here. Thanks Michael.
  • His longitudinal dihedral ("Einstellwinkeldifferenz") between main wing and elevator is 1. That means that, as the main wing has an angle of 0 degrees to the longitudinal axis (it is parallel to it), his elevator is down (leading edge down) by 1.
  • His canards are fixed at 3 leading edge up.
  • He removed the TV nozzles, so the airstream goes out at 0.

Cheers,
Henrik
