Yippee!

Steam Boat Regatta, S.F. Sunday 8/16

Last minute reminder to those who can attend!

(from the SFMYC website)
The San Francisco Model Yacht Club cordially invites you to its first-ever All Steam Power model boat regatta at Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park. This unique event is a tribute to steam, which, other than wind, was the first mode of power used for model boats. Showcased will be a variety of vintage and modern day models including tugs, workboats, and open launches. The Steam Up is open to all steam powered vessels. Modelers are encouraged to display all forms of steam plants and boilers, as well as works in progress.

When: Sunday, August 16th, 2009 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Where: Spreckels Lake at 36th Ave. and Fulton St. in Golden Gate Park

Hope to see you there!
(I'll bring a camera, with batteries in it! )

My camera bateries are on charge as we speak. Have to be there as I promised them a few buoys in the water to drive around. Don't forget that the TugFest was moved to Sept. 13th also. Am bringing a Springer for Rescue Duty and if a couple of Electric's get a run in or two nobody will get their knickers in a twist.

Looking forward to the great pictures you are going to post. And they are going to be great pictures, we all have faith in you. Just remember to keep your camera strap around your neck to that when you get excited you don't drop your camera in the water, and if you fall in, keep the camera above your head so we here can benefit from your dunking.
