SFMYC - Tug Regatta, Images 01 - 08

SFMYC - Tug Regatta
San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, South Shore - Speckels Lake
Sunday, 9-13-09

This is actually pretty cool for me because I had to help judge the event so my daughter grabbed the camera and just started shooting! Did a pretty good job I think.

Your daughter took some nice pictures!

Hee hee, re: the nav course, "circles of doom" is right! Don't trust the wind going in!

Over 30" boats use the big circle
Under 30" boats use the little circle

Set mid way in the nav event, you enter the "Circle of Doom", make a 180* turn inside the circle without touching the boat to the edge and then exit the "Circle of Doom" and continue through the nav course... sounds easy, and can be... if the wind is not blowing... or if the wind is blowing predictably... which is basically never in S.F.

fun stuff!

I totally know the feeling! I'd like to run up there, at the "trio" of events one of these years!
