Over Port Hood, Nova Scotia(Canada's Ocean Playground!)few more pics added Aug 12

Our provincial car license plates bear the words in this thread's title, Nova Scotia-Canada's Ocean Playground. These pictures were taken at our favorite vacationing spot, a cottage on the the beaches of Port Hood village on the western shores of Cape Breton Island. We spend a week there every year. My sister lives there and in my younger days I went out with her husband to fish for lobster, herring, cod, mackerel etc. The water between the island and beach used to freeze hard enough for harness racing and skating. The waters are the warmest north of the Carolinas in summer. I like to kayak over to the beach on the island and occasionally have had it all to myself. I love this place so please indulge my posting of so many pics, I'll do it in two parts. Hope you enjoy!

Cheers!

Those are simply breathtaking. What beauty! I have a question for all you who live around the sea, is the tide coming in or going out in these pictures? Just curious!

Again, thanks folks!

Olivier, we have had a very wet summer and usually things would be a little less green at this time of year, and yes, the LX3 is doing great for me! More on the way

Carl, the tide was definitely low in most of my pics but you'd have to be there for a bit to know if it was still going out or starting to come back in
Cheers!

Hey bolter,

I should be in your area sometime next week. My oldest friend lives in Newport and we will be visiting him. Hopefully while in Nova Scotia you can show me some of these great photogenic spots. I've brought along my Hawkeye.
