A whole audience of ketchup bottles is watching a movie. In the movie there's a broken bottle with ketchup spilling out. Mother to child in audience: "Don't worry, dear, it's not real ketchup."

My favorite is the one where the farmer comes upon the cows who have an illustration of a man with all the "cuts" labeled. I forget the caption.

That and the one with the dinosaur's smoking behind the dugout, and the caption says something like, "The real reason why the dinosaurs are all extinct."

My fave "Far Side" is the Horse Hospitals one. Two horses lying on gurneys with bandaged legs elevated and blood transfusion bottles on stands, doctors with clipboards and shotguns under the arm stride purposely across the floor, consulting their clipboards, behind screens at the end of the ward an arm and shotgun peeps out with the single speech baloon "BLAM!" above.

The look on the faces of the two horses is supoib.

Oh and of course the greatest of them all - Ralph Harrison, king of salespersons approaching by boat and waving to the eskimos stood beside their igloos, each wth a large refrigerator.

Thanks for reminding my of my other favorite.

The caption reads something like:

"Like most veterinary students, Eugene breezed right through the chapter on equine medicine."

The picture show a list of horse maladies starting with a broken leg. Beside each malady was the treatment, all of which were "shoot".

The recurring themes are wonderful - dogs in cars, bugs lecturing their children, deserted islands, ant farms.

Here's another favourite.

Big group of cowboys gathered around a campfire eating and one says "Hey you guys! Simmons here just uttered a discouraging word!"

Gary Larson is notoriously strict on copyright infringement, hence the scarcity of his material on the 'net. I respect those wishes so a description will have to do. The thread prompted me to flick through the Far Side Gallery on the shelf and caused many a chuckle. His sense of humour appeals to me greatly, as does Scott Adam's Dilbert series. Some of the funniest comics ever an his books are extremely thought provoking.

My favorite:

A cat is shown in midair, all four paws out in a semi-spreadeagle position and the tail of a nearby airplane in the upper corner.

"At this altitude, he suddenly realizes that it does not matter if he lands on his feet"

Out of Time
A hunter with a rifle on the left of the panel with a deer standing up on two legs hiding behind a tree on the right.

The deer's word balloon says:
"Who is he and why is he trying to kill me? Think man! I've got to THINK!"
