I fly only with 2250mah batteries and it does the high alpha at 70 or 80 degrees well. Several batteries makes the shorter flight times a non issue. Almost hovers vertically and would do if I removed the landing gear. Single nozzle might make it difficult to stop roll though. I did paint an off white strip on the bottom to help with orientation on my first one.

Tape n' glue, Good as New!
Ok, finally got some video… Sorry it's un-edited...but still pretty good I think! I have to say after eight flights that it was worth it, although the build was loooong! Tell me what you think, and what my estimated speed is. Thanks!

Nice video. No retracts on yours? It sure is a lot of fun to fly isn't it.

Yes, I put electric retracts in for the mains but left the nose gear mechanical, and to my surprise it's only collapsed once! (on the maiden of course!!) it will be replaced with a servoless electric one as soon as I get some cash.

Electric Retracts

Thats it! ... I have had it with these stock retracts.!!! I know a lot of you guys are putting electric retracts in this model. Can someone here please recommend some elec. retracts that are dependable and economical. If I have to get some e-flite elec. retracts than I will, but I would like a more economical option if it is available. Thanks guys.

Retracts, they do suck but if you come in on them like a feather they do work well. They cant handle a hard landing too many times, the retract will break.

F35 Lightning Freewing II thrust vectoring

Hey i just got the plane, maidened it, and had a problem with it.
-plane has all stock materials
-servos, motor, ESC, RX, TX, everything.
I got the plane off of BH and on my first maiden, the plane took off and it couldnt fly straight and level, it porpoised very violently and sometimes fliped over on itself, The CG shudnt be an issue becaiuse it has a designated battery spot on it. It landed fine but has anyone ever had an issue with this? it would be great to hear your opinions on this.

Did you actually check where the CG was compared to where it is supposed to be according to the instructions?

Like he said actually check CG , turn of thrust vectoring until all trimmed out. Lastly check position of tv nosels mine was a bit (upthrust) and it made for one interesting flight. It also kept wanting to flip every time I gave it throttle.
