What are the best wheels to use for gws models? and a-10 question...

Okay, I've outgrown the gws plastic wheels and need something that will stand up to more abuse. Could everybody please post their fav wheels or suggested wheels here for everybody to see? I know this has prob been gone over before, but I would like to see everybody's responses.

On the A-10, does anybody have a good suggestion for implementing the rudder on the plane?

Thanks for all your responses or suggestions.

My favorites for scale looks and light weight are the Hobby-Lobby Lyt wheels. I use them on all my planes.

Another good source is E Cubed

Du-Bro makes foam wheels with either smooth or diamond tread. See:http://www.dubro.com/
Also Dave Brown has similar wheels, but either smooth, low profile, and/or treaded: http://www.dbproducts.com/

You can order direct from either, and I think Tower carries both also. -thumbs

Will post a photo later; but Iíve got both rudders and GWS wheels resolved.

My mains are retracted like full scale and Iíve added a tail wheel mount the nose wheel bushing in the tail.

A bell crank on the tail wheel will be used to operate the rudders.

Iíll mount a Wattage control horn in each rudder using their control rod to connect the rudders to the bell crank on the tail wheel.

The control rod is aft and slightly below the elevator providing plenty of clearance.

Though initially Iíll fly it w/o the rudders operating the tail wheel from the aileron servo.

Hey Boom,
These wheels were given to me for free by the guy at the LHS (Ron from US Hobbies, Moonachie, NJ). They were leftovers from a discontinued kit they used to sell... However, these wheels are exactly the same as the ones Megatech sells with their Airstrike. I hate that plane, but the wheels are nice and light, and they sell them separate.

However, if I didn't have these, I'd go with Dubro light wheels (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...ls&FVPROFIL=++) - 1" in the front, and 1 3/4" on the mains. The only thing is, you will need to come up with a way to mount them on the stock struts, because they are not long enough...

Good luck,
Doc-E
