I split the difference & made mine 40". I thought the 44 looked a bit out of proportion but wanted a little extra span to reduce the loading. From memory it was one extra rib bay each side.

Agree, can build off that plan for sure.
As Jim said, laminate the lower longeron from 3/32 X 3/16th, extend the wooden engine bearers into F3.......and if it's not RC you need a DT.......they fly very well.

Re the fuel used in model diesels,
A mixture of Ether, Kerosine and castor oil is required, for the Mills a mix of equal parts of the 3 is the useual.

Thanks so much for this, been wanting the article for ages. It's easy enough to build without it but there's always something you can't quite "see" on the plan alone.
