Outrageish Bipe 28" WS Acrobatic EPP BW

Well here is my first contribution to the Foamies. I bought an UltraFly Outrage Bipe on a sale recently. I believe these are discontinued. Since im still somewhat of a beginner i thought i better trace some outlines of the wings and tail feathers in case i need to remake those pieces. I did those parts and thought it would be fun to try to get the basic dimensions of the fuse as well. Before i knew it, i had a full fuse foamy set of plans on paper. I put the Outrage kit back in the box and scratch built my bipe from the drawings from 5mm and 9mm EPP. It turned out great, it was my first full fuse scratchbuild. It can slow down to a crawl, hover and knife edge well. After i built the bipe i then scanned my drawings and drew the plans in google sketchup. So here it is:

28" WS
9mm EPP foam (the first version i built with 5mm on the fuse, but i would use all 9mm to make it more rigid)
2 5gram servos for elevator and rudder
1 9gram servo for ailerons
BW 1200 kv motor
9.5 gws DD prop
10A Esc
500-800mah 3S lipo
Carbon Fiber flat pieces glued to the leading edge of wings and hstab. also in wing struts.

You can see all my photos here plus a very shaky video of it, unfortunately the day i recorded it i was having issues with the esc so it had to be brought down right away.

I fly it with 500 mah 3s and that gives me about 6 minutes of flying.

I think you can see from the pics where i mounted the servos, the CG is about 80mm from the leading edge of the top wing.

I have been flying this for the past few months as my main plane and it has taken a beating. It also got smashed in the back of a SUV on a camping trip, amazingly, with a little bit of bamboo and heat, the plane has basically popped back into shape like a rubbermaid trash can.

This is my first google sketchup so dont expect it to be perfect. My next set of plans is being tested out by another forum member and so far so good.. there is a preview attached.

new video...

Looks good on the ground too. Looking forward to more video.

I added this build to the list of EPP plans in the EPP sticky thread.

Nice job trooper!

If this is your first full fuse scratchbuild, I can't wait to see your future planes! Oh, and the preview of your next build looks awesome!

My specs of your Outrage-ish

Made of Epp 9mm
Top and bottom of fuselage made from 6 mm Depron for rigidity
Spar 3mm carbon tube inside upper wing
Leading edge of lower wing made of carbon flat 3mmx1
2x 6g servos, 1x 9g servo, Corona receiver, 2205 brushless 28g, 500mAh 2S LiPo
AUW 280g
This is a nice parkflyer.
But I plan to convert it into a FK profile in order to fly slower Indoor,
I'll let you know...
Interested by FK? look at Regal Bipe in RCGroups
Cheers, FS

How to you get to the battery, ESC, Rx, etc.

Nice looking plane.

I'm curious, how do you get the batt, ESC, Rx in and out?

Is there a hatch or is it just glued in until you take the plane apart?
