DX6i and GY401 tail wag HELP.

I have a Raptor 50 with a DX6i and a GY401 gyro
First I have not flown my Raptor 50 in over a year.
So this may be something simple I am not doing.
My Eclipse 7 died and I installed my DX6i in my R50.
With the Eclipse 7, I had NO wag in remote or HH.
With the DX6i , the tail is as smooth as glass in remote mode.
As soon as I put the Heli in HH the tail wags about 1 " .
No matter where my gain is in my DX6i Settings . 53 all the way up to 90. It still wags.
The wag is really bad above 85 , but from 53 to 85 NO change in Wag .
Any suggestions.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm no expert but....there is a curve for this isn't there? Set up in the radio?

Since each servo is different it may be adding more torque or something?

I suspect my issue is similiar, and also note if you replaced theservo the rear rudder is probably slightly out of whack - maybe slight adjustment there on the rudder pitch?

Tail wag

Hi there .............ok

1 / are you using a digital server on the tail ?

2/ HH you mean stunt mode or something other then stunt mode ?

3/ if the servo is not a digital high speed then you are going to burn it out in stunt mode .

4/ look at your mixing for throttle to rudder that should be 0%

5/ Pitch curve to rudder mix should be 0%

6/ In normally mode with the AVCS mode on should be at 80% to start with

7/ in idl1 mode with the AVCS mode on should be 75% to 80% to start with

8/ in idl2 stunt mode with gyro in normal mode 20% to start with

9 / you don't need the AVCS at high speed or stunt mode .Use the normal mode for that but this is only if you have a high speed servo on the tail

10/ One more thing I can think of is the rudder close to center with out the gyro on do's the heli fly with out the gyro if not make small ajustments to the linkage untile it is close then try it with the gyro on again .

Hope that helps you out there I had the same thing happen to my Benzin Trainer when I changed radios it was a hard work out to get it to work right but I got it with the above changes . good luck Fred

Thanks for the replys.

I set everything up again from scratch. Checked the linkages.
re-bound the DX6i. Everything is fine now.
Rate mode is 40 and HH / Stunt mode is 70
