Basically you spin the rotor up at a low rpm, about 1/4 throttle and you first find the heavy spot and record its location. You then intentionally add weight to a know location to find the "phase shift". Once you find these positions you then know where to add the weight to get the rotor to balance. You then add or subtract weight as needed to get it to balance correctly.

Don, what are you using as weight inside the fan housing? I can't quite tell from the pics.

Weather here in Canton, Michigan is not much different than Willoughby, Ohio where Don lives. Tis the builiding season. It will have to thaw a bit.

I couldn't live up there with you guys. I don't like the humid Texas summer heat.....but at least winter time here in Texas is flying and driving weather still!

You do have the advantage of being able to fly in the winter, but I can fly until 10 PM at night during the long days of summer and not die of heat stroke.

Don i think im going to have you balance my wm400 and the wm300 rotors for me ...i'll pm you for details .your 64mm fans sound so good after you balance them .....i bet it lowrs the amps and add rpm too.

Yes RPMs go up and amps do drop a little it really depends on how out of balance they are to start with but if you need a few things balanced let me know.

I can vouch for Don's mad skillz! I ordered 2 of the 60mm fans w/ 4400+ motors w/ balancing and they are spot on! Better than I could do.

I throttled them up and not even a single scratch from blades rubbing. They sounded awesome. Great work Don!
