Can 540 motors be used with Kyosho EDF unit?

I thought that a 540 motor could easily take 10 cell power, and they come in nice low winds like 11 turn, 9 turn, etc. Why not modify the fan unit to accept maybe a Speed Gems 2 motor? It would add a few ounces, but it would also probably add a few ounces of thrust!

Any thoughts? Are the low turn cobalt 400s better?

Thanks a million!!!

It won't fit unless you change the shroud. Chris True wrote some very nice articles on how to make your own shroud.

A poor man's version is dremeling out the Kyosho shroud and epoxing the trinity case to the stators...

11,9 turns are way too hot, 27 too cold... You will need a 18-22 turn motor, depending on cell count. Been there done that. Again
check out Chris' articles, keyword atomic force or ion storm...
