Thank you for your answers,
the fact is the program shuts off as soon as the Gardian is connected; win sends a message the Guardian is correctly configured when connecting to a " new " USB port ... but always shutdown @ device connection ! Merci pour l'idée, Marc Laurent, ![]() Alain EDIT: for the BIOS ... USB just can be turnrd ON or OFF ... also tried USB on the Motherboard or through various Hubs ... NO Joy ... |

Same hereQuote:
I’ve changed USB power settings In win 10 The PC USB port works on other hardware The cable is a data transfer type with the USB logo I’m using the latest 10.69 software ( I’ve deleted and reinstalled a couple of times) My conclusion is that some Guardians just won’t communicate with Win 10 . But .........it works on my older HP laptop running Win 7 ! Go figure ! |

Hi all,
As Billpa did not post since 7 years, this thread seems to not have anymore the initial subject. About the Windows 10 issue, you may solve it this way : - get a Windows 7 DVD installation disk or download "Windows 7 Iso file" using a valid license code at microsoft.com for instance. Around 4 GB. - install a virtualization tool like virtualbox : https://www.virtualbox.org/, but others tools exists like Vmware Workstation Then create a Virtual Machine running Windows 7 with 2 GB RAM and 20 GB virtual disk. This way you will have a Windows 7 running in a window inside your Windows 10 laptop. Then install the eagleTree tools inside the Windows 7 instance. Look on internet about how to enable access to USB ports from Windows 7 If you have Windows 10 business, you may enable HyperV instead of installing VirtualBox. HyperV is not available with the windows 10 home edition Regards |

Hi, All
Finally found How to unlock my Guardian ... No way to run the latests softwares with WIN10 ??? , so : - First, suppress the Data recorder folder - Now reinstall an old version instead - The software ( old version ) will run now, and offer you to DOWNGRADE the guardian You can accept ... or not ... but you should, il you want to access the settings ... the software works " not so badly " at this stage. Now you need an old XP computer ( SP4 works fine for me ) to install the 10.72 soft. release : It will offer you to upgrade the Guardian to v. 1.29 ... here you accept, and THEN you have full hand on Guardian settings ... note you have lost access to Win 10 running program ... Soooo ... as a conclusion - old firmware +old software versions work with Win 10 ( just a little screen flickering ... ![]() - recent firmwares + software don't ... if straight installed. Attached is my oldest version of Data Recorder ( 2013 Nov. ) I have to test another thing : install the software into a " writable " folder ... ( not Program x86 default folder ) , I noticed other programs having same behaviour work when installed elsewhere ... EDIT : BINGOOOOO !!! Just need to install the program in another location than the default one !!! Yess ... much simpler than digging up the old XP Computer ... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Alain |
