39.3" Funtana aerobatic plane - From scratch - Now with Plans
A few weeks ago, I designed an electric powered mini-Funtana for a friend that was looking for a cheap, easy and fast to build aerobatic plane to replace his old "profile serie" Cap 232.
This is some spec. of my "baby" :
Span : 1 meter (about 39.3")
Length : 85.7 cm (34 ")
A.U.W : around 600 grammes (21.16 Oz)
Engine power : 222 W
Propeller : 10x4.7
Batterie : 1300 mAh LIPO 3S
Flight time : more than 10 minutes - performing "3D" flight
She have been maidened with success last sunday at late after noon.
Now i'm looking for a cool paint scheme for her.
I would like to paint a "Red Bull Air Race" scheme but i failed to find a complete exemple of such a paint scheme.
Does somebody have some pictures or links to complete schemes please ?
(i'm not sure of the words : i'm looking for some top / under & side view of a plane painted with a "Red Bull" paint scheme)
Thanks by advance
As many of you asked for the plans....
This is the links :
The A0 sized untiled assembly plan is available HERE :
The A0 sized Untiled parts plan is available HERE
Keep me informed if you find some mistakes on the plans
and feel free to contact me if there is something you don't understand on them.
NEW UPDATE :
A4 Tiled version of Assembly plan is available HERE
A4 Tiled version of Parts plan is available HERE
Letter Tiled version of Assembly plan is available HERE
Letter Tiled version of Parts plan is available HERE
Last results for Center of gravity's location :
The best results we obteined seems to be with a ballancing point located at 8cm from the leading edge - Measured at the fuselage and wing junction.
At this ballancing point the aircraft is just a bit "Tail heavy".
A Kalleman's contribution : A plan to build a structure (with ribs and spars) wing for the Funtana
Thank you very much Kalleman

I really like the Extra 300 Paint Scheme !
Something say me that we will try to reproduce this one
Thank you very much Kalleman.
Wow 3 people already ask for plan just after one day
You are faster than me guys !
At this time, as it was for me, the plan which I drew does not contain clearly all the necessary parts and is A0 sized - untiled.
I will draw them for you as fast as possible on a second layer and i will update the post with plans.
Are you Ok for a .PDF untiled A0 plan, or do you prefer a tiled version (A4 or letter ?)
Have a nice day !
Ok for untiled A0 sized plans.
I'll take off to Duxford Flying Legend Air Show tomorrow early in the morning and will be back at home next Tuesday.
I'm affraid i will not have enough time to update my plans before to leave in England, sorry.
I think the plans will be available in the middle of the next week.
Hi Kalleman !
The Duxford Flying Legend Airshow was simply FANTASTIC !
I've never seen so much WWII warbirds flying together :
8 spitfire + 6 P-51 + 1 FW-190 + 1 "buchon" (a spanish version of th e BF-109 fitted with the rolls royce engine in stade of the DB-605...) + 3 B-25 + 1 B-17 + 1 Lancaster + 3 Yak9 + 3 Hurricane + 1 Gladiator biplane + 2 Skyraider + Ms 406 + 2 Sea Fury + 1 Seafire + 1 Lysander + 1 Ju-52 + 1 DC-3 + many tiger moth + DH 89 Dragon Rapide and so much other flying jewels....
What a sound while the final "balbo" when all the aircrafts fly in a 3 squared box big formation !!!
It's really a "must to be seen" airshow.
Well.... it's time to back to our main subject :
I used a KDA 22-20L outrunner brushless engine.
It's a very good brushless engine with a low price.
