recommendation for VERY high capacity Lipo pack.

Hello,

I need a BIG capacity Lipo Pack for a Scale plane based on a Maxi Joker machanic. I am planing 20 minutes smooth flying, so it is a very low "C" rating need.

I am hesitating between 10s-10.000mA pack and 12s-8.000 mA packs. But, searching the Lipos manufacturer web site, it seems that 12sHigh capacity are very hard to find without assembling 4 packs together while 10s packs can be done with assembling 2 packs only.

- So, technically, is it better to use 2 packs 10s-5000 in parallel (to get 10s-10.000 mA) or to use 2 packs 6s-8000 in serial (to get 12s-8000 mA). Which solution is better / safer ?

- And, for best efficiency of the motor, is it better to have 10s-10000 mA or 12s-8.000 mA ?

- What LiPos manufacturer is recommended for those "Low "C" rating application) ? I can’t find any more sub 25C lipos. It looks like all manufacturer are now in the race for Highest “C” rating, which is not the correct solution for our application). So, which “light high capacity’ pack will you suggest ?

thanks in advance

Thunder Power has the prolite series still. 10S4P 8000s but that might be 2 5s4ps in series though

Pain? I know pain!
You can get some cheap 15c packs from hobbycity.com The biggest they have are 5s and 6s 5000 mah though. You would be best off to go with 4 smaller packs in case of a mishap, imagine ruining a 10s 5000 pack which is at minimum going to set you back 400 bux vs some Zippy packs at under $75 a piece shipped to the states. I think 4-5s 5000s or 4-6s 4000's or 5000's would be the hot ticket.

The higher the voltage the higher the efficiency so that being said...er written the 12s would be the way to go.

You could also go a123's.

I would say go for 24 packs also. Cheaper to by since they are common packs and not custom made.

I worked out a setup for a Century Predator with 8s using 2s2p 4000ma packs that work out to 15 minutes of flight easy with a 1500 HS.

Don't get the cheapest packs even though high C is not needed. It will be easier on the packs and they will last longer.

Chech True RC, if they have the needed cells available they can build whatever configuration that you want in 1)C or 15C. These are good qualityu and not expensive
