Upgrading Skyartec Wasp V3 FP to V3 CCPM
These steps should help those that want to upgrade the Skyartec
Wasp V3 FP to a CCPM. We assume you a have the newest Sky 701 Tx
and a Wasp V3 FP
You will need to order WASP V3 CCPM Upgrade. Part WH3-042.
You will also need 1 new 8 gram servo.
You will need to download the complete Sky701 instruction set if
you haven't got that one already. Here:
You should also get the new manual for the V4 which will give you much
guidence on setting up CCPM - especially page 18.
I think you are wondering how to setup
the CCPM head if you upgrade? With the FP set you can only affect the
Gyro Sensitivity if you enable dip switch 5 to rev position. Once you adjust
the Gyro then put back to nor position to lock the setting.
From left to right here are the factory dip Tx settings for FP:

These are the way you would want these dip switches
set once you get the heli tweaked just the way you like it.
To adjust the V1, V2 knobs you must disconnect 2 of the motor wires - yellow
and blue; mark the other end so you know which goes where.
Make sure the flight mode switch on top right is up or in "Normal" position.
To set up the CCPM pitch adjustement you need to unlock pitch adjustement
and pitch limit. Put dip switch 10 to rev and 11 to nor. You adjust V1 to
control amount of pitch. V2 to control end limit (distance) of movement.
I cannot give you a "1 setting fits all" answer. I will say that these
controls are very sensitive. You will need to experiment with the correct amount of pitch for your heli.
I would first setup all the controls to netural centered, level and straight
for the swashplate and the rotor holders and all the connector links. So when transmitter is one and all trim is centered the head is level and straight. Then I would move knob V1 to the "+" side to put in a small amount of pitch. The V2 knob can be set to control maximum limit of throw.
Leave this setting and it will be locked in the next step
Now put dip 10 to nor and 11 to rev. Put both V1 to "0" or pointing to
12:00 as on a clock dial. This should put the throttle curve from stick down to full power in a linear straight line.
Moving V1 to the "+" will more rapidly increase the throttle in a non linear
proportion. Moving V1 to the "-" will reverse the effect and require more throttle stick movement forward to get the power up to full.
Thats about it for now; hope this helps a little, if you decide to go to
CCPM. Of course none of this matters, except the gyro sensitivity, if you stay with a FP head.
