Actually I made several changes at the same time. I added heavier high speed metal gear (.08@6v) servos to all three surfaces in the rear. Added heavy hub to balance at the marked mid-point. Now, my AUW with 6s 4500 45C = 9 lbs!

Curious to know what other's electrics AUW are. Advertised weight is 7.5#'s (got to be empty tank nitro, with smallest motor.. ).

I've been inching closer to completion on this bird for over a year now. Here a little, there a little. Thought I saw the light at the end of the tunnel until I shoved a reamer through the wing support when (without thinking) I was going to enlarge the hole for the dowel to fit. DUH! well, hole is filled, and wing support is in spray booth waiting for one more wet sand before the final coat of white and then back on track. In the meantime I made a pair of vinyl decals for the rudder. They give the bird some personality I think.

I used 2 different motors in my Reactor bipe: a 5065 Turnigy 410kv (14.6oz motor weight), and then a 5055 Value Hobby 600kv (12oz motor weight). I used both 3300mah and 4000mah 6S packs. My plane came out at 7lb 5oz with my 3300mah packs, and 7lb 8oz with my 4000mah 6S packs with the heavier motor. I never had an issue with balancing it; there was plenty of room to shift the packs fore or aft as needed.

I thought I'd join the "weight" discussion and report on my Reactor Bipe with 20cc Zenoah. She weighs 8lbs 1oz with no fuel. Not bad compared to some of the weights I've seen here for electric birds.
I've installed a slightly larger fuel tank (around 450cc I think ...it's not labeled) and I should get somewhere around 20 to 30 min. flight time depending on how hard I run it. At $3.50 a gallon plus about $.75 worth of good 2 stroke oil for a 2 gallon container, that's darned cheap and whole lotta fun. She's a real rocket with this engine.

I think it is a perfect fit. I easily get 8 minutes with a 5000 mah Lipo. I could go longer as I land with 30 -35% left. It will hover then unlimited climb out. The airplane has a large speed range. Looks like it has been discontinued,
