Hi All... I just wanted to see what Peoples thoughts were on the ar500 receiver they put in the Stock p51 and others too. Has anyone else had interference or loss of signal issues? I am unfortunately -1 in my fleet because I had issues. I'm not saying it was receiver or pilot error, I'm just wondering if anybody else has had problems with the receiver likewise?

Second, does anyone know where I might be able to find the manual for the stock 18A esc? Trying to turn the brake on and cannot find a manual.. Nothing is said in the P-51 manual..

Couldn't find any info on dimensions, but here's some stuff: The first is the paper tanks they used.

Yes. Both my Mustangs experienced the same thing. My "Hell-er Bust" had one on the 37th flight. Complete loss of everything right after it left my hand, crashed in the tall weeds. My "The West By Gawd Virginian" had the exact same thing on it's 3rd flight, right at launch, but came back in 2 1/2 seconds and I was able to land it safely.

I made a new rule. First flight of the day, just go ahead and rebind the Rx to the Tx. Just to cover your butt. Since I've started doing that, haven't had anymore problems.

Thanks.. I think I am going to go with some that look like the metal ones they used.. Gonna snag some 7 5/8" tanks from Sparky, I think..

I found a post in a forum for Hot Rod builders where a guy bought a P-51 tank to build a hot rod out of. He lists it as "about 7' long" so I guess 19000RPM's scaling was pretty accurate.

Attached is the pic that the guy at the hot rod forum posted.

After several problems from high altitude with several AR500's with several planes, I have decided it's not the receivers, it's the TXR, so I am retiring my DX6i and changing to an Aurora 9 transmitter. Yes, the DX6i was sent to Horizon.

Hi Nageotte,

Nice job on the retracts and steerable tail wheel.
Thinking of doing the same. Can I ask if you land on grass or concrete?
Our field is grass which we try to keep fairly well cut but it's not
a lawn by any means. Have you had any problems landing?
Approx how much of an angle do you have between the bottom of wing and
wheel struts?
Knowing what you know now, would you do anything different if you had
to do it again?
thanks

Paul

I have had several problems with the AR6100's. Lost two planes with them. Ever since I quit using the and went to AR500's and AR6200's I have had no problems.

I would go with all full range receivers unless you have a spektrum receiver on the outside of a foamie. Ar500's are solid, no worries.

Prop upgrade to corsair - t28 prop BIG dissapointment

I was looking for some more speed from the mustang so I got a 30A esc and the 9.5x7.5 corsair\t28 prop

using the stock motor

mesurements as follows

Stock 9x6 prop with 1550mah 30c rhino pack
208w
17.5a
11.6v

9.5x7.5 corsair\t28 prop with 1550mah 30c rhino pack
213w
18.1a
11.6v

Also tried a master airscrew prop 11x8 with 1550mah 30c rhino pack
274w
23.4a
11.6v

only thing I can figure is the stock 9x6 prop is more of a "slow fly" shape which always seem to pull more that a similar apc style prop

Just didn't see how a gain of 5w from the corsair prop was worth messing with.

QUESTION: can the STOCK MOTOR handle the 274w\23.4a using the 11x8 prop - I fly a lot at WOT
