These are some pretty big generalizations on my part but from what I have seen the latest generation of NiMh cells can keep up with the NiCads cycle life at high C discharge rates. I think in general though that Nicads are still the top dog when is comes to cycle life overall. I always found myself tossing the packs (nicad or Nimh) after 100-150 cycles though. While they still worked fine, the performance was noticeably lower than a new pack and not worth it to keep them around. I am finding the same with Li-polys but the latest generation of Kokams & E-tecs so far appear to be even more robust in terms of cycle life above 5C. I find that the Li-polys life can be greatly extended by not bringing them under 2.9v per cell under load and of course not charging about 4.24 volts per cell. But most of us already know about the Li-polys narrow operating voltage range. My 2 cents. Thanks
