Hi,
I have a thread in this forum regarding the status of Phase3 models (website has been unavailable for weeks)

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1786114

If it is true and they are out if business, and HP has sold off their inventory and removed the Squall from their website, it might be good to start searching out the remaining kits for purchase...

The F-16 is on still on sale for $29, extended from the of Nov to the end of Dec, the Fantom disappeared years ago and the U-2 is still available AFAIK.

I have decided to buy a squall kit from hobby people but want y'alls recommendation on a power system. Is it a 64mm or 70mm and what moves this plane best. Thanks in advance

it's 70mm and imo 500watts and up is the ticket. hope this helps.

That does help thank you for your quick response. I'm looking at the 10 blade 70mm fans but i really want this thing to move and want to know which set ups work best in this airframe.

well imo the lower blade count fans are still better for hi speed (high efflux ) than the higher blade fans . hard to beat the het set ups just depends what cell count you want.

Well I don't want to exceed 5s and would prefer it to be fast but I don't have time to build it for 170mph lol. I have little time to build models anymore but really like my jets to be fast. I'm going to send out a couple pm's and see what I come up with. The squall kit version is already ordered just need to figure out the power system.

with a wing as thick as this one , it can be made fairly fast but it takes some serious power. imo it's much better used for aerobatics and use something low drag for the speedster.

An HET or Wemotec minifan Pro with a HET 2w-20 (3400kv) would be about 700w.
It's been a great setup for the PH3 F-16, for years, and pushes it to about 120mph with a 60A esc and 4s, 25c 2500mAh lipos.
This is a pretty light 70mm setup, and the Squall will still hand launch easily and land fairly slow.

Agreed. And the Phase 3 F-16 airframe is only $29.99 from HobbyPeople. Ridiculously good deal.

Phase 3

Hey Guys,
I'm a Supervisor at Hobby People and I can tell you that I have not heard anything about Phase 3 going away. If we do decide to stop the Phase 3 line of models, it's probably a safe bet that we'll just re-brand them(at least the F-16 and Squall) as our own under the HP name.
We've done it in the past with some of the Wattage stuff, but like I said...
As far as I know, the Squall will be around for a while.

That's great to know.

They do make some cool models.

If only the U2 was easily available to Oz

Thank you for that information.
The disappearance of the Phase 3 Models website combined with the extended sales prices on the F-16 lead me to the wrong conclusion.
