Put mine together this week, painted it, flew it twice...cool! Pure stock with a 4S 2200mah 35C Hyperion pack. In-flight pictures in a while.

Does anyone have programming instructions for the esc that comes with the hp squall? A dozen or so local guys got these and one of the escs doesn't work with 4s(motor just makes a clicking sound) but works with 3s. If the esc can be programmer to fix it that would be very helpful. If not we have to cut the belly off and replace the esc.

That's probably because the Squall was the 3S version.

They are all the hp version. Says so on the esc also. Seems like the timing is wrong.

I gave him an extra esc I had. He'll call them about it...just thought maybe there would be a timing setting in the esc.

It goes into programming mode if I power it up with the stick at full throttle but no idea what the beeps mean. It would be sweet if I could find a way to fix this without having to tear into my bellypan. Any idea if the phase 3 esc is a rebranded something else or do they make their own?

Alright, been flying the snot out of my stock Squall and want some more speed. Is there a direct motor replacement that will bolt to the stock fan that will give me more power? I made the mistake of gluing my fan in real good. I also want to stick with the G4 4cell packs I have now. Any ideas?

The het 2w20 is an awsome motor. I ran it in the stock fan for quite a while. Eventually though I upgraded to the het 6904 fan wich makes more power and the sweetest jet sound ever!

Ok, I will look into that motor. Is there a different adapter I need when changing motors but keeping the same fan? Thanks for your help.....

Well, I'm thinking I need to find a way to replace the fan as well. I'm sure I can get it out, so I'm going to upgrade the fan and motor. I'm thinking the Typhoon EDF-2W-20 700W motor and either the HET unit 6904 or WeMoTec 480 mini fan. Will the 70mm fit well since the old was a 64mm fan? I will need to upgrade the ESC as well, thinking a Turnigy plush 60 or 80 ?

Will the 70mm fit fine or will I have to mod it ?

Thats a great setup. Pulls about 50 amps so that esc will handle it no problem. You will have to do a little sanding to fit the fan but its no big deal. The fan comes with a detachable inlet ring. I didn,t use the ring so not too much sanding to fit the unit. My squall does about 110-115 mph with this setup. 4 minutes WOT with a gens ace 4s 3300. You will love it!
