I guess the hub OD has to be at least 28mm as that is the diameter of the motor can. Hmm.

I was wondering, there is a 1mm ish gap between the blade tips and the inside of the shroud, I presume this is to allow for the blades expanding at high rpm?

Hello guys. Looks like there's enough space in the airframe for (2) 11.1 2200 lipos. I'm contemplating getting one with an RC-Lander 68mm fan unit, runnnig on 6S.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Does C of G affect top speed? What is the best C of G for slow flying and hovering? Im currently at 60mm back from where the wings meet the fuse.

More questions! ) Im currently using a 7s 2200mah pack, would I get equall performance from say a 6s 3000mah pack of the same C rating?

Richard, you won't get the same performance on 6S as you do on 7S. A wattmeter is really an important tool and would answer these questions for you.

Wattmeter, get it. Own it. Use it! Or else burn up stuff. Are you a fireman? Nope?
Get a wattmeter.

A couple of guys at the field have watt meters, ill borrow theirs.

I am going to spray my squall with foam safe paint, only trouble is it gives a mat finish, will this slow the plane down much?

Even with the VT unit it dopplered 105mph today. I'm going to fly that motor until it explodes

I wanted to see what the $16 motor can do, and now I know!!
The motor has continued to impress me. The 6904 shroud on the other hand has suffered a bit. This morning when I was about to release the jet the impeller came off. I'm not sure why as I have tightened it really well. The damage to the inside of the duct is minimal. The shroud however seems to have started melting/cracking where the motor is attached. I'll replace the 2836 with the 3200kv when it arrives.

Morganmiller bellypan kit

Here you go. I received my bellypan kit from Morgan Mill. The clear plastic is very tough. The black plastic is pretty strong too, but easier to cut.

The black nose section trims quite easily. Make sure you trim the inner section of the upper section so you don't block air flow into the fan.

It takes a couple of pairs of scissors and Dremel to finish the edges.
