Love my scale Whirlybirds
Keyrigger's Avatar
I finally decided to fit the Align MD 500E body to my 250 SE. The fitting had been done over three weeks ago, but I was not ready to commit the mechanics to the body as I had not done very much flying with the 250 as it was. It was not to do any 3D, but just some hovering and forward scale type flying. I have been practicing at night in my underground parking garage as there is no wind and a very confined area to keep my movements close and precise. I have no pretentions on being anything other than a regular flyer with no desire to do 3D with this heli in any configuration. I really like the way this heli has become the most stable in my fleet and it deserves to have this body around it. Now, the journey begins to add the scale detail and lights. Ohhhhh nooooooo.

Hopefully, my LittleBird will survive another year after blades and blade-grips separation in flight. It will be decommissioned to civilian life soon.

I'm browsing the web, reading my email, watching TV, using two computers, but you ever see something that makes you stop and say, that's beautiful... I would love to have a ship with that fuse on it. The color is just amazing. You must have a build thread somewhere with what it is and where you got it along with a video!! You must!

I want one! There's something about a practical looking helicopter scaled down to an rc helicopter. Sort of like flying within your means. I would love to find one for my trex 450sev2...

I'm glad you only pruned the tree Sideways, cuz' I thought for a second you were about to test the WSPS on that chain link fence. BTW, nice recovery when you lost lift.

would drilling holes in wooden blades change the noise they make ?
How could you get a more realistic noise from the blades ?

Flybarless Robinson

Hi guys,
Just some pics of my giant Vario Robinson sporting now a flybarless head.
I must say it not only looks better (more realistic) it also reacts faster, much like the touchy full scale Robinson. Of course the installed Helicommand Rigid lets me program how "touchy" I want it
I'll try to shoot a video this weekend.
Cheers.

BTW, the wheels are only to roll this 30 pounder to the landing pad
