Htl-4 mcp x

This is an Academy 1/35th scale HTL-4 MCP X. I made mine a civilian model. I made the custom graphics on a cheap printer so they didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but overall I'm happy with the results.

Very nice..! how does it fly with the added weight? I know when I built the first mcpx w/revelle kit it was almost at the limits...

Thanks. It flies like a brick. Mine barely gets in the air. I thought it was going to be too heavy, but I saw someone else build this model and I wanted to do one myself. I didn't fly my MCP X much anyway and I didn't do anything that can't be undone.

I wonder what it would be like to remake all that frame out of balsa wood.

The plastic in this kit is really soft so I had to really beef up the frame around the mechanics, which is where I think most of the added weight came from, so I don't think there would be enough weight savings from balsa to help.

Few floaters of different kind, they don't build them like this anymore. I was horrified today going to my local petrol station to fill up, and seeing on the shelf 4 various sizes of RTF model helis. What a GARBIDGE is china shaving down our throats, all it does is creating polution and more garbidge in our tips, Joe.
