Oddly, it's called a '325' but it certainly seems to be a full blown 450 to me.... might be just a *teeny* bit smaller than my Blade 400 or other 450s, but if it's smaller it sure can't be by much.

I guess I should look up the specs, since it is my heli, after all....

Thanks Tracknoob, thats pretty close to a 450. I need to look into one of those for sure. BTW where did you get the fuse ? I just love scale helis...

That's what got me interested in the heli to begin with, was the fuse -- I think I saw a pic or video of one of them in that Cobra fuse, then found out they had been out a long time and was supposedly a high quality, but easy to mount body kit, so I just checked the RCG classified for a while, and eventually found someone selling a used disassembled heli, plus the fuse kit for a good price. I heard the bodies even came pre-painted and everything, but then AFTER I got mine and saw it was the clear body kit (fully disclosed in the ad, but I did not get the importance) then I discovered that the clear kit requires trimming the plastic out, and some other stuff including painting of course, that you don't have to do with the other kits.

Someone told me they also have UH-1 and Augusta kits that are the same -- pre-painted and designed specifically for the 325 chassis, but a lot cheaper overall than a Heliartist or other custom fuse.

Md500d hk450


Here's my HK450 in a Heliartist MD500D fuselage and a 5 blade head. It's only been hovered a few times as the stock tail doesn't hold very well. Flying Hobbies 4 blade tail rotor for a 450 has been out of stock for months and I don't like the non scale look of 500 tail rotor blades, so for now its a bit of a shelf queen.

Try the following: take main blades for a Blade MCPX, and shorten them to 62 mm from centre hole to blade tip.
Balance them, and chances are you have full tail authority with the same power consumption a normal tail would (and definitely a lot less power consumption compared to a 4 bladed tail.

It worked for me on my 450 size HeliArtist BO 105, where it looked a lot more scale than normal 450 tailblades.

Looks awesome! What head is that? I tried the 4 blade cascade mod on mine and could never get the severe vibrations out. Tried the 500 tail blades and agree they look out of place, and still were just marginally better. If you don't mind a standard 2 blade tail, you could try the speed up tail gear as Cap231EX described. It's from ExperienceRC and the part number is EFLH1455A. I'll have to look up his posts of the process but it completely cured my issues with tail authority and vibration. I'm sure he'll be watching and might link his post faster than I can find it again.

On a four blade head A109, I had trouble with tail issues. They were cured by installing 61mm KBDD blades, along with a 3 axis gyro. I am using SM scale blades that I got directly from them but they are now available from RC Aerodyne. I did try the cut down mCPX blades but they didn't help me out. Sometimes you need to try a combination of mods to get the cure for an individual heli. Take care.

Thanks for the tips on the tail guys. I'll look into these other options.

mligosh the head is a Just-Heli head I got off Ebay for about $60 bucks.
