Looking Great! I wanted one in Blue, but now, I don't know which color I like.
Since I have many 6s 5000 packs, I guess that will be what I will use, if possible.

Off to Boston. Will post more when I get into ORD tonight.

Boy, that thing looks awesome! Since I've already got plenty of 6s batteries for my T-rex and plenty of 5s batteries for my 55" planes, there's really never been a better "get both" situation. Shoot, I even have most of the power systems for both of them just laying around. Now all I need is a servo endorsement!

So, Scott, you want to go flying soon? I promise that I won't break anything and I'll take some real pretty pictures!

Guys -

Glad everyone approves of the Velox.

This airplane has a solid-ply engine box that will accept a variety of glow or small gas engines. Target glow engine is the Saito 1.50 4-stroke. A 1.25 would make for a slower, floatier setup, of course. A *small* 26-28CC gas engine can be used, testing with those engines is proceeding, we'll have AUW on that soon.

A separate, bolt-on outrunner mount is included which will accept up to Hacker A50S motors. Hyperion 4025, AXI 4130, etc.

4 full-size servos. We're using HS-985MG.

63mm spinner diamter.

New 2.5mm ball-link hardware.

Ultracote.

One-piece molded carbon landing gear.

Aluminum axles.

Hinge-point style hinges. Wings pre-hinged and gap-sealed. Tail-surfaces have one side pre-hinged. Very quick to finish hinging.

Double-phenolic control horns.

Till-style tailwheel with carbon mount.

Locking canopy hatch latch. Canopy-bolt locations also provided for high-vibration applications.

Video, pricing, availability info all coming after the Fly-Low-In this weekend, where the 68" Veloxes (and 70" Slicks) willbe flying on elecgric power.

My sentiments exactly. Lots of guys have 4s 3850s they are using in their 55" planes. They can step right up into this plane without buying bateries.

The Big Velox is looking great Scott and Ben!!

I'm sure there will be plenty of video coverage on it at this weekend's FLI event.

Sweet!!! Cant wait to see this puppy in the air!!!

Great looking planes!! Just the other day, I was looking at my ragged and worn Velox, thinking its time to replace it with a new one... I didn't know it was going to be a 68" model instead of a 47...

Okay, let me go ahead and ask the most important question. How does she tumble and spin? Violently I hope!

I agree 100%. I probably will do an electric 50CC sometime within a year since I'll have some of the packs but this size seems great for battery cost and single pack use. I have 2 Hyperion DUOs so with four 6s packs I can fly continuous if I wanted.

I remember a year or year and a half ago when the 47" Velox was hitting everyone's hands that we were all saying that "4s is the new 3s." Now it appears that 6s is the new 3s!

Thank you for the pre-hingeing and gap sealing and keeping the hatch latch on the bigger electrics.

Seriously it is. I remember paying about $90 for a 3s 2200 25c pack at most 2 years ago. Now I am buying my 6s 25c 3700-5000 packs for the same price. The hobby has been good to me.
